The 34th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival kicked off Jan 5 at the Harbin Ice and Snow World Park in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
Meanwhile, the 19th Harbin Ice and Snow World, an 800,000-square-meter wonderland, began its official run.
Glowing buildings made of ice are among the highlights of this International Ice and Snow Festival.
The sculptures, which often are made to look like famous buildings or monuments, take about 10,000 people to construct. They are bathed in light for nighttime visiting.
This annual ice and snow festival will last until the end of February when the ice starts to melt. Last year, over 10 million tourists visited this festival.
